Grilled Cabbage Steaks and Smoked Sausage

Recipe Ingredients

  • 1/2 package (13.5 ounces) JOHNSONVILLE® Smoked Rope Sausage
  • 4 slices JOHNSONVILLE® Maple Sausage Strips™
  • 1 head green cabbage, sliced into half inch slices
  • 1 sweet red pepper, seeded and quartered
  • 3 green onions
  • 1/4 to 1/2 cup crumbled Gorgonzola cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Cooking Instructions

  1. Preheat grill to medium heat.
  2. Grill sausage and sausage strips for 5-10 minutes or until heated through. Remove from grill; chop.
  3. Brush cabbage steaks on both sides with oil and season with salt and pepper. Brush red peppers and green onions with olive oil. Place on grill and cook until tender, about 5 minutes per side for cabbage; 3-4 minutes for onions and peppers.
  4. Remove onions and peppers from grill. Chop pepper and slice onions.
  5. Top cabbage steaks with the sausage strips, sausage, peppers, onions and cheese, drizzle with vinaigrette before serving.

  1. 2 tablespoons olive oil
  2. 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  3. 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  4. 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  5. Salt and pepper, to taste
