Italian Sausage Pepper Skillet

  • 1 package (19 ounces) JOHNSONVILLE Mild Italian Sausage
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, julienned
  • 1 green bell pepper, julienned
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, julienned
  • 1/2 cup sliced onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon basil flakes
  • 1 can (14.5 ounces) Italian diced tomatoes with juice
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Cooking Instructions

  1. Prepare sausage according to package directions. Cool slightly; cut into bias-size pieces, set aside and keep warm.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook and stir garlic in olive oil until tender; about 30 seconds.
  3. Add peppers and onion to skillet, cook and stir until tender; about 2 minutes.
  4. Add diced Italian tomatoes and sausage pieces, cook and stir until heated through; about 5 minutes.
  5. Sprinkle with basil, add salt and pepper to taste.

Air Fryer Directions

  1. Preheat air fryer to 360ºF for 4 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, in a bowl, toss the oil with the garlic, peppers and onion.
  3. Place mixture into preheated air fryer; top with sausage.
  4. Cook at 360ºF for 10 minutes, turning sausage half way through.
  5. Remove from air fryer basket to a bowl.
  6. Toss with basil and tomatoes.
