SLOW COOKER CHORIZO DIP

Ingredients

  • 1 package (16 ounces) JOHNSONVILLE Chorizo Ground Sausage
  • 2 cans (10 ounces each) diced tomatoes with green chilies, drained
  • 2 packages (8 ounces each) cream cheese, cut into cubes
  • 1 package (16 ounces) processed American cheese, cut into cubes
  • Tortilla chips or assorted fresh vegetables

Cooking Instructions

  1. In a skillet, cook and crumble sausage over medium heat until sausage is browned and the internal temperature is 160°F; about 10 minutes. Drain if desired.
  2. Transfer sausage to a slow cooker. Add tomatoes with chilies and cheeses.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 1-1/2 to 2 hours; stirring occasionally.
  4. Serve with tortilla chips or fresh vegetables.

Stovetop Preparation

  1. In a skillet, cook and crumble sausage over medium heat until sausage is browned and the internal temperature is 160°F; about 10 minutes. Drain if desired. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, cook and stir frequently chilies and cheeses over medium-low heat until cheeses are melted; 12-14 minutes.
  3. Add sausage, cook and stir until heated through.
  4. Serve with tortilla chips or fresh vegetables.
