Johnsonville Sausage Named a Top Workplace

Johnsonville Sausage was named a Top Wisconsin Workplace by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, which presents annual honors to the state’s top employers. Companies were evaluated through employee surveys asking feedback on work-life balance, motivation, health, employee retention and happiness.

A total of 150 employers in small, midsize and large categories were recognized. Johnsonville Sausage performed especially well in the areas of training and career development.

“We use the business to build the people, and not the other way around,” said Johnsonville Sausage President Bill Morgan who has been a member at the company since the mid-1980s. “We feel like we have a moral responsibility to our members to provide the environment, experiences, training and education so they can develop their talents and skills.”

Johnsonville offers many employee-friendly programs, including bonuses when the company meets certain goals.

“The idea of developing your talents and being rewarded for doing so, comes through and makes this place special. Ultimately, that will result in the business being successful,” said Johnsonville Sausage CEO Nick Meriggiolo, who joined the company on April 1.
