Garlic Butter Parmesan Sausage Pasta

Butter makes everything better. Savory sausage, tender linguine, sweet peas and Parmesan get tossed in a golden garlic butter sauce for an easy, cozy dinner with just the right amount of kick. Finish with lemon, basil or extra Parmesan and dig in.

Ingredients

    1 package (16 oz) package Johnsonville Fresh Ground Italian Sausage, any variety

Directions

  1. Cook linguine according to package directions; drain and set aside.
  2. Meanwhile, in a large skillet over medium heat, brown smoked sausage slices until heated through and lightly browned or cook and crumble fresh ground sausage until browned and the internal temperature reaches 160°F. Remove from skillet and keep warm.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the butter foams, turns golden brown, and smells nutty.
  4. Add garlic, peas, and crushed red pepper flakes. Cook and stir occasionally until the peas are warmed through. Add the sausage and cooked linguine and toss until evenly coated.
  5. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and crushed red pepper flakes.

Flavor Up!

Add lemon zest and juice to the butter sauce, then serve with toasted pine nuts and fresh basil.
